Finnish industry must succeed in the midst of constant transformation. To achieve this, bold leadership is required – leadership that is built on the work of company boards.
Perspectives on leadership from board members will be heard at the MAKE Leadership Seminar, organized in connection with the Teknologia 25 trade fair. The discussion will feature Ville Voipio, Chair of the Board at Vaisala; Robert Schulman, Board Member at Fastems; Kari Neilimo, Chair of the Board in several companies and Board Member at Purso and TT Gaskets; and Tatu Hautala, Board Member at Brillian. The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Klaus Breitholtz, who has completed his doctorate on board governance. The panelists represent companies of different sizes, various parts of the manufacturing value chain, and different generations.
Change Advances from Boards to Production
The seminar program has been put together by the MAKE in Finland ecosystem, which brings together more than 50 manufacturing companies.
“Our goal at MAKE in Finland is to ensure that Finnish manufacturing remains globally competitive. Achieving this requires all of us to be ready to act boldly and differently,” says Clémentine Arpiainen, Ecosystem Lead at MAKE in Finland.
According to Arpiainen, board-level thinking is key to transformation:
“The world is in transition, and now more than ever we need courageous decisions. To stay at the forefront technologically and otherwise, the change in mindset must start from the boards. For production to renew itself, the boards guiding it must also be bold.”
Behind Success
The seminar will be opened with a keynote by Anssi Rantanen, serial entrepreneur, speaker, and growth expert who has helped more than 150 companies accelerate growth. He is fascinated by how the world’s most successful people, teams, and organizations act differently. Currently, Rantanen serves as Co-Founder and Chief Growth Officer at DeepScan Diagnostics, a company developing next-generation diagnostics for veterinarians.
The seminar will conclude with Docent Vesa Nissinen, who will speak about how leadership can leave a lasting impact – and how interaction transforms into influence.
