DIMECC Oy Establishes a Subsidiary in Norway

DIMECC Oy establishes a subsidiary in Norway, DIMECC AS. The company will start operations in the Norwegian market in the same role as DIMECC Oy in Finland, acting as the leader of multi-stakeholder development of new business and technology. DIMECC AS will start operations immediately, focusing on managing the ecosystem of autonomous mobility solutions. Eja Tuominen has been appointed CEO of DIMECC AS.

“Norway has a very high level of technological expertise, significant national investments in co-development of new business, and a very synergistic model with our current public-private partnership cooperation. We will be able to launch the subsidiary’s operations effectively in several technology areas where we can offer added value to customers in both countries through new connections and cost-sharing of risk projects,” says DIMECC Oy’s CEO, Dr Harri Kulmala.

Eja Tuominen is an experienced Nordic business manager. She serves, among other things, as a member of the Board of Directors of Tokmanni Group Oyj in Finland and Löfbergs AB in Sweden. Tuominen is a citizen of Norway, Sweden, and Finland, has lived in Norway for seven years, and is currently the director of SAMS Norway, an association for autonomous systems. In 2024, SAMS Norway sought to collaborate with the Finnish VAMOS ecosystem in the development of autonomous mobility, which opened the opportunity to combine activities in Norway within the DIMECC framework.

“The growth of the association has required a transition to a corporate ecosystem management model, and DIMECC is best placed to provide the necessary models and tools for this. Transforming our Norwegian operations into a corporate-based subsidiary of DIMECC also enables the co-development of other strong technology areas between Finnish and Norwegian companies. Technological innovations strengthen the competitiveness and sovereignty of the Nordic countries,” says Eja Tuominen, who will start as CEO of DIMECC AS on 1 July 2026.

Tero Hottinen, KONE’s Vice President, Strategic Partnerships, and Jaquelyn Burton, Vice President for Bridge Systems at Kongsberg Maritime, have been appointed to the board of directors of DIMECC AS. The board of directors of DIMECC Oy has appointed Harri Kulmala as the chairman of the Norwegian subsidiary’s board.

“Our goal is to create significant cooperation and synergy benefits for DIMECC’s owners and customers by examining development investments in Finland and Norway on the same themes more broadly and from a pan-European perspective. The benefits of industrial co-development will grow as the number of ambitious actors in the common ecosystem increases,” says Burton.

DIMECC Oy is one of Europe’s largest co-development service companies for business and technology renewal. DIMECC’s customers are approximately 300-400 companies annually, and, based on Statistics Finland’s data, their growth and profitability are significantly higher than those of their peers. DIMECC’s services include networking, leveraging digitalisation, and accelerating organisational learning.
