Prima Power focuses on digitalizing traditional laser and sheet metal processing industry. In the InDEx program (Industrial Data Excellence), led by DIMECC Ltd., Prima Power has developed a Cloud Manufacturing solution, which digitalizes sheet metal orders. This AI-based solution automizes the manual workflow and reduces the time to create quotation and production plan from days into seconds.

“Cloud Manufacturing is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) product that utilizes latest artificial intelligence and machine learning principles to automatically pre-process metal part designs and extract key product features, calculates instant price quotes, processes orders online and tracks order status,” says Valeria Boldosova, Digital Solutions and Strategy Developer at Prima Power.

The benefits of the solution are the shorter lead response time as well as cost and time savings.

The future is co-created

During the project, Prima Power closely collaborates with such project partners as HT Laser and Elekmerk, which act as pilot customers, test the Cloud Manufacturing solution and provide feedback for improvements. In order to ensure privacy and security of data shared through the Cloud Manufacturing platform, Prima Power collaborates with University of Vaasa and University of Jyväskylä that provide knowledge and expertise in the areas of contractual law and cybersecurity.

“InDEx project represents a unique opportunity for Prima Power, because we do not only share our own know-how with other industrial partners in the ecosystem, but we also learn from customers, research institutions and SMEs, and together we co-create solutions for the factory of the future,” says Valeria Boldosova.

The InDEx program is digitizing industry

InDEx program focuses on digitizing Finnish industry and building a data community and a common data platform. Konecranes, Danfoss, Elekmerk, Fastems, HT Laser, PrimaPower, Raute, SSAB and TietoEVRY participate in the program. Academic partners are Aalto University, Tampere University, University of Turku, University of Helsinki, University of Jyväskylä and VTT. The InDEx program is co-financed by Business Finland and the participating companies. It is an Intelligent Industry ecosystem development project.
