Blå Genväg is a Swedish–Norwegian preparatory project exploring the future of sustainable waterborne public transport. The project aims to lay the foundation for a larger cross-border initiative focused on electric and autonomous passenger ferries as part of integrated public transport systems in the Kattegat–Skagerrak region.
The project will identify potential test sites, assess technical, regulatory, organisational and societal requirements, and engage municipalities, public transport authorities, ports, technology providers and research organisations.
Funding: Co-funded by the EU Interreg Öresund–Kattegat–Skagerrak Programme.
Duration: The project runs until 20 November 2026.
Lead partner: 2030-sekretariatet (Sweden)
Project partners: IUS Innovation (Sweden) and DIMECC (Norway).
